Ink Critque: Comic Evolution

"Do you have a favorite store you like to visit? It could be a particular store that sells a particular band's cd or perhaps that one clothing store that always has your favorite style of jeans in your size.  But how many of you out there visit other kinds of stores like for nostalgia like the Hot Topic's T-shirts that have things on them from when you were growing up?
That's how it is for me at my local comic shop, Comic Evolution. Earlier this year I was introduced to the Blackest Night stories just web surfing for Green Lantern pics and memorabilia. And Comic Evolution in puyallup helped me out a lot, not only did I get all the rings I wanted, but I did have the option to get every color lantern ring at one point or another.

The infamous man behind the counter, chuck is a really cool guy. His store has loads of comics and tons of comic related stuff. Such as the lantern rings to really cool posters, there are things like dice and miniature games to the desktop Buddy Christ from the View Askew movies like Dogma.
When it comes to comics this store really does have it all, it doesn't matter if your in the mood for nostalgia and want to pick up an older comic or if you want the latest issue of your favorite series...comic evolution is the place to be.  I mean who wouldn't want to go pay them a visit when they have a puppet Angel for sale"

What was posted above was my little review on the store Comic Evolution in Puyallup, WA.  I had typed that up to post on the store's facebook page because it really is a good store, but I couldn't really go into greater detail on how cool the store is considering I didn't want to take up too much of it's review space. But on my own site I have carte blanche :P

For those of you who frequent http://www.thegreenlanterncorps.com/forum/ and http://www.toysoldiersunite.com/, you may remember mentioning the infamous man behind the counter. Chuck is the guy at Comic Evolution whom helped me get the lantern rings I wanted. I didn't get indigo or or violet cause I really don't like those particular lantern corps from the comics. Now if I had to describe Chuck, I'd have to say he is like that guy from Pawn Stars but with a comic shop.

The store itself is really awesome, they can do custom posters if I heard right. And they got a ton of really good items ranging form comics, to the books on certain series and even action figures, statues and busts. They have older and newer comics, they do sell some manga too. The fact they have a little desktop Buddy Christ from Dogma is just absolutely funny, which only adds to the uber badass-ness of the store.

It has to be my favorite store to go and even just visit, I like their stuff and the people who work their such as Chuck are all really cool people. And that one mural type thing just above their window on the inside of the store is just really spectacular.

I'll be mentioning Chuck and Comic Evolution in later reviews too, such as my reviews on the Blackest Night in october and Time Bandits which is a part of my Back to the Past/Time Travel month. Time bandits is on there because Chuck suggested it and I though I'd give it a look see and then do a review.

So if you have a local comic shop and haven't gone, my suggestion is pop on in and check it out, you never know what you may see there.

Additionally, I'd like to apologize for those of you waiting to see my Top 80's cartoon review. I have all the stuff I need to review it, it's just I haven't gotten around to editing it. Why not? well, I've finally gotten around to try and level a new character to 80 in world of warcraft. It'd be two lvl 80 characters in all, I typically hate lvling, but I have found myself in this groove where I was basically dinging every day. It's kinda slowed down a bit once I hit 78, but I try to get around editing the top 80s cartoon review next week as I should be done getting this character to 80 by then.

Till next time...
